Genetically modified food, which appeared to be passively accepted by American consumers, has become a hot topic in the U.S.–all the more with California Proposition 37, which calls for mandatory labeling of GM food, on the November 2012 ballot. The issue divides political parties–Democrats are pro-Proposition 37, while Republicans are against it, and millions are being spent to argue if mandatory labeling is needed. Advocates say consumers have a right to know; those against it say GM food is fine and it may scare consumers from eating the plants that are in nearly all processed food in the US.

Here is one overview on Proposition 37. What’s your side?
